Also, a slightly less frustrated response might be to justify the payments as supporting the future treatment costs of the diagnosed condition. We are not offering a coercive payment to students or poor people to encourage participation. Rather the payment would be to provide support for the obviously required future treatment of the patient that has been diagnosed with potential breast cancer.
Surely if a payment is to assist in the future treatment of the diagnosed condition and there is supporting evidence of the potential cost for that treatment then that would be ethically acceptable? Could they simply offer to pay out of pocket expenses for treatment after diagnosis?
