I am mid 30s so have time on my side. But important to make a good decision now after 10 years of trying to pick the next Disallowed with mixed results.

forget about advisors.
do lots of reading. information is easily available these days online.
choose some good quality fund managers, LICs and stocks.
and hold some cash for rainy days.
you'll save a fortune not paying advisors.
