As @musky45 has intimated in an ensuing post by citing compound annual investment returns of 9%pa over the long-term, NOT investing in the stock market is a reckless thing to do.
And from the standpoint of long-term financial prosperity, not owning shares is therefore a high degree gamble.
But provided you don't get it wrong, is the important caveat.
