I might say @col69 I can claim the to be the longest holder of SPL stock on this Hot Copper forum site.
I originally purchased off market through Austock on 10-8-2000 for yes..... $1.00 per share!
The value I saw then was an upcoming biotech with a unique drug delivery system.
I had a running battle with a friend who got into Biota and collected a 5 bagger in 3 years and I steadfastly stood by SPL and in so remained a laughing stock.
Oh, how I chuckled when I saw the @antibotter AG post tonight re the contrarian investor and how to make money with persistence.........lord knows 19 years I should have made a s##t load by now and sailed off into the sunset but alas a current share price of $1.12 with no dividends along the way.
I suppose I can consider myself to be the ultimate contrarian - so that is something I guess.
I ask myself everyday why, why, why do I continue with the insanity?
Yes, I believe there is substance and value with the companies IP but management at every turn screw up whatever they get there hands on let alone the indifference they show toward faithful shareholders with non-discript vague announcements and little commercial acumen.
Obviously it is a bottom draw stock for me but I am resigned to the fact the chances of making any money now is at Powerball odds!
I am more than happy for posters here to call me stark raving mad but I realise this now, so from that angle, I am at first base in acknowledging I must have a problem and I can opt for some sort of therapy!
Maybe the faithful here can revisit this site in another 19 years and see if we are at $1.24.
I'll probably be 6 foot under but the SPL shares will still be in the bottom drawer.
I hope this sends a reality check to some of the ever hopefuls here and I am one of those, but if you are, then like me please acknowledge you have a problem that you need to live with amongst your peers here and consider seeking therapy.
