Less than a year ago at last Starpharma AGM - It is alleged/rumoured Dr Jackie Fairley CEO brought up the subject of a takeover by AstraZeneca
Comments by a poster who attended the AGM stated on this forum the following and was confirmed by another poster who attended AGM
Below is the extract
"something that really surprised me was when jackie said that az might just buy spl out instead of paying the milestones and royalties. apparently she was told by pascal that if spl was an unit of az then they would be working on 20 products. this comment took me off guard and makes me think that there may be something in the wind around this. im not gonna bank on it tho in the short term".
I suspect there were no reporters or analysts bothering to be present or this comment would have been plastered all over the media
