The things you write about , you know that the same litany of horror can be produced by the other side. Does that justify the behaviour of either side, or only Israel's? Exactly the the same justifications are used by both sides. I repeat, I would expect more from Israel, instead both are barbarians, regardless of the motivation. Note your use of the word " retaliate ". I would agree with your use of that word. That is what is happening. Doing the hard yards , making the compromises needed to fix the problems is beyond Israel it seems , so , short term " retaliate" , make themselves feel that they are accomplishing something. As , by far the more powerful in this situation, Israel is the only one that can fix it.
Do you seriously think that the present course will be successful strategy long term? Do you think their opponents will give up? Would you give up in the same situation? Describe the end game.
