I do somewhat agree with what you're saying. Many of the people I know from India were sent by their parents to study abroad, gain PR and eventually citizenship, in the hopes of securing a better life for themselves and their families. This is partly why they are so driven and make up such a large proportion of International students in fields such as medicine. I highly doubt an International student from India, who comes to Australia to study medicine, is hoping to return to India to work as a doctor once their studies are complete. The salary alone would be astronomically different.

Perhaps the difference when it comes to tech/software engineers is that they can pretty much work from anywhere, as long as they have a computer and an internet connection!?

At the end of the day, I don't really care if they learnt to code in their grandmothers basement, as long as they're good at it!
