I personally see these sanctions as a massive positive because they target those who have to lift their game……it’s easy to have sanctions against the country when they don’t effect you personally it’s a different story when they start hitting your own back pocket.
Targeted sanctions are far far more likely to have a positive outcome than sanctioning Zimbabwe.

After some thought about blowback I am reporting that my reliable contacts in Zimbabwe are saying there are rumors and some texting about a possible coup. These rumors are usually false, but have been correct on some occasions.

Hopefully nothing happens and it is just some sort of ZANU-PF jousting or drunken outbursts.

It could be the specific USA sanctions against Mnangagwa have weakened him and emboldened his opponents.
