Better late than never, AC. I know it could just be confirmation bias, but I can't help nodding and agreeing with all that you say. My accumulation finished last year, when I put practically everything into GXY. Initially, back in January 2016, I saw it as a bit of a speccie, but was prepared to risk a fair amount. As I did more and more research and spoke to AT and MR, my confidence grew and I got out of property and into GXY. The first six months of this year were difficult, when GXY's price retreated along with other Australian lithium and graphite miners. But it was only difficult in the sense that I couldn't understand the failure of Australian investors to see the coming battery boom. My own confidence in GXY remained undimmed.
As I have said several times, you can't bemoan the tide of sentiment going out. So long as the battery moon is still shining in the sky, you just have to remain confident that the tide will return. The retreating tide wasn't GXY-specific, it was across the battery space, and driven in part by analysts who warned darkly of lithium bubble. With EVs, grid storage and home storage all set to boom at the same time, the talk of a bubble was both misguided and possibly mischievous. It created a huge opportunity that was largely seized by the big boys and girls.
The tide of sentiment has now returned to the battery space and GXY has been the beneficiary. As people do their research, they will understand that a lot of companies in this space will do well but they're not all the same. With 100% ownership of three world-class resources across three continents, with MC profits increasing by the month and an experienced management, GXY stands head and shoulders above the rest and is ahead of the pack IMO. I'm looking forward to next year's AGM, when I expect more than a mug and a T-shirt.
