Tianqi saw profits balloon in 2016 as its lithium chemical products business recorded higher sales and prices throughout the year due to strong demand from cathode material producers supplying the electric vehicle market.
Tianqi Lithium's profits soared in 2016, the carbonate and hydroxide producer said late last week ahead of the full company results release on 5 April.
Net profit surged to Rmb1.51bn ($218m) from Rmb247.85m in 2015 on turnover that doubled to Rmb 3.9bn in 2016 vs. Rmb 1.87bn in 2015 [...]
