    True the Libs maximised the value of the float ie the return to the taxpayers TO PAY DOWN DEBT. That was smart economic management.
    The problem occurs when you have a FINANCIALLY IRRESPONSIBLE government that follows (RUDD), who now wants to spend at all costs and now wants to change the rules to the detriment of the shareholders, by attempting to bully the company into gifting their pipedream a substantial amount of money.
    Should the Libs have realised that the rules would have changed once there was a change of government- probably. Does that mean that they should not have floated the company- no.

    It is the Labour governments perogative to change the rules , it is the oppositions role to point out the unfairness and perhaps even the unconstitutional nature of their actions.
    It is the job of the australian voters to ensure that people who run governments at odds with the values of the nation collectively, dont get to see the light of day after the next election
