Glug,
Firstly, it was Labor that sold T1 and did not split Telstra.. Conroy is now trying to get even for that, but why should shareholders suffer the consequences??
Secondly, Conroy stated before the 2007 election that a Rudd Government had no intention of splitting Telstra.. The public were conned to get extra votes..
Thirdly, in view of this statement, The Government were not mandated to split Telstra.. Also, they were mandated to spend $4.7B on broadband not $43B as is now the case.. Should not both these issues go to the next election for the public to decide??
How can you help but not point the finger for blame?? Investors are not being given the opportunity to evaluate their decision on business/market forces, as there is too much outside interference.. Interference that has not been afforded to any other company in this Country..
How would Optus, the second biggest Mobile carrier, feel if they were dictated too by the Government and told how to run their business?? The Singaporeans would take their money and run!!! They would certainly not help Fporeign competitors..
