The very simple point is the Chinese party in the coalition Govt feels the need to pander to the original Chinese opposition, which pre dates SMSL/HH etc, suggesting they still believe it is significant.
Investors can stick their heads in the sand or factor the probability of further negative publicity in the lead up to the elections.
Anyone thinking sovereign risk is not still a negative on the SP is still high on rocket fumes IMO.
Will be a big positive on the SP to get the election out of the way and remove much of this sovereign risk.
