I notice Lynas's extraction plant in Malaysia is on the South China Sea coastline in Pahang. A bit too exposed for my liking. If China decides to put an area of denial between Singapore and Sarawak, the entrance to the South China Sea, then Lynas will have to land its ore on Malaysia's West Coast ports and truck/rail across country. If Malacca is also blocked, its curtains for that operation. I feel Lynas should definitely look to move its operations away from Malaysia, and given the strategic importance of this, other Western leaning governments should bite the bullet and waive their restrictive environmental policies to allow Lynas to relocate the heavy extraction plant.
