The bottom line is that if supply exceeds demand then value will decrease. The intrinsic value is only one of the influential considerations in the equation. But being and oil and gas producer is as popular as being a smoker atm. So supply exceeds demand regardless of intrinsic value of the product.
Unless something changes for the long term of O&G, or the company diversified into something new, long term holders looking for value will need to see dividends in excess of capital cost when the music stops and the game ends.
