Today in El Pais, it is reported Spanish health authorities estimate the real infection (and therefore immunity rate) in Madrid is already above 40%. They are now advocating the relaxing of restrictions in that province, opening restaurants etc, even though 200-250 continue to die there every day. New hospitalisations have gone down steeply with the scenario of the virus having done its work. The true death rate is tiny compared with what we are led to believe by Chinese statistics. In Madrid is has been in the order of 1,2 per thousand. The best policy is the Swedish one of protecting the vulnerable and medical preparedness not confinement and destruction of the economy. We are all going to follow the Swedish model anyway, as the news from Spain indicates today
