    Also doesn't help that with an increase in the number of criminals and their propensity for violence; our laws haven't changed to adapt to these times.

    Victims have little rights compared to the criminals and we are not encouraged to employ violence against a violent act in the interest of self-defense.

    Now, I'm not a fan of many American policies both foreign and domestic but on this issue - they're absolutely spot on. If the bad guy(s) use violence, the average American can defend themselves with little fear of legal ramification. Not so here in Oz.

    No wonder the bad guys are winning...
