If our leaders hadn't taken the necessary steps to raise the level of migration into Australia we would, by now, be no more than a remote Communist China outpost. No doubt,such an eventuality, would please some on this site no end.

We must, therefore, be forever thankful for our alliance with our closest friend and ally - the USA, joined together by a common language, but more importantly, by a strong belief in democracy for which we fought together
in two world wars. But that's not to deny our close relationship with our other close ally - Great Britain with whom we also fought alongside in two world wars, and which thereby saved the lives of many of our inhabitants who migrated to this country, including yours truly.
