    It's very hard to combat if it's part of the 'corporate culture', that is, if the whole organisation is sick.

    The routes are mostly very difficult (eg going through EEO external route or union, if there is one). Only worth it when there is a lot at stake or compensation likely (depending on one's principles of fairness etc).

    The main successes I've seen have been if there is a person at the top of the organisation willing to do something about it, or a very strong and influential and stubborn HR person on side. Even then, life for the person reporting and the victim can be made extremely hard.
