agreed. Not an inspiring selection. Did SRQ really need 2 CFO's? Straits needs shrewd, strategic minds with judgement and a focus on asset optimisation and operational excellence - there are enough bankers and of course Glencore's influence to advise on asset disposals and the split of what is a limited and easily defined gold portfolio that isnt worth very much anyway.

Put simply, I would have liked to see an operator recruited to do what Straits havent done for a very long time: deliver sustained operational performance after the years of frantic and illogical dealmaking and portfolio tinkering starting with the coal split that never made much sense, and included the unfathomable decision to go to metal rather than concentrate at Hillgrove - considering the fundamentals of the antimony market this was a lost opportunity that could have delivered near-windfall returns if executed reasonably proficiently.Tritton hasnt ever really delivered operationally although its shown good promise from time to time - and Avoca Tank does seem to create some genuine promise.

Tritton seems to show a full cost after depreciation and sustaining capital, that is circa $2.70 on a break even basis and surely leveraging this down 10-20% can only be delivered by highly experienced leadership with a nuanced understanding of underground operations? After all there isnt a lot else for the CEO to do.
