I am optimistic in the long term with Li. Just not particularly optimistic for the next 18 - 24 months.

Building positions, re balancing portfolios now is the key to LT success IMO.

I have continually held LTR to varying levels through 2020 until it was clear Gina was building a blocking stake. I posted selling out of our SMSF. I had sold my other holding at $2.56

I re entered after the SP got the shit kicked out of it to sub $1.00. It is a good speculative buy under $1.00

Its not bad buying now for the LT but I don't see any hurry to add more.

LTR does have some very specific areas;
- Commissioning / ramp up in a low price environment
- underground mining (higher opex)
- gold plated capex
- pricing tied to hydroxide
- planned commissioning with a sizeable debt facility
- planning to ship its product probably the furthest of any hard rock mine

.....to name a few.

A low price environment is not conducive for commissioning a mining project unless it is very low on the cost curve.

As for other plays, MY 3 key rules for investing are:
1. Bank Regular Profits
2. Bank Regular Profits
3. Bank Regular Profits

If you follow that it covers a multitude of sins and bad decisions in the spec space. AVZ owes me nothing, in fact in 2022 FY I had a sizeable tax bill.
