If the merger is to be completed by I July then the existing BHP shareholders would have to know just how many WPL shares they are getting before then. The actual entitlement of BHP for WPL shares is just speculation at present. IMO at some point the actual WPL entitlement will be announced and there will have to be a date when BHP shares go ex entitlement WPL shares. All this is a fair way on the future. It will be interesting to see what effect this all has on the SP when we know.
