    Irr is the ebit as a percentage of capital invested
    i.e. 50m profit on a billion investment is 5%
    obviously there's benchmarking against what other companies achieve and a minimum expectation

    this is to stop us claiming huge writedowns or profit shifting to avoid tax etc
