Unless the bidding companies already have established consortia with others they do not have much chance of getting complete proposals together let alone have the project set up by end of year. MO estimated today that there might be only half a dozen companies of the 90 applicants that have all the skills and connections required to set up complete systems. The rest just want to contribute something to get a bite of the pie. For S.A. only turnkey systems are acceptable. It is likely that several bidders will each get a chunk of the 150MW required. With EMC as a highly experienced supplier in all facets of micro grid design it very probable that CCE will land a contract. Since the purpose is to provide stability and security in energy the plants need to be located in different parts of the state. Winning a contract on this scale would aid CCE to gain an international footing.
Some other states such as Queensland will be looking over the fence to see how well it works.
I hesitate to say that CCE has also the advantage of being an Australian company. We said that once before when Martin Ferguson awarded a $63 M grant to an American company, OPT!
