CNR's results aren't exactly terrible. Anything above 1% as far as grades are concerned is decent. Most nickel sulphide deposits are found at a depth of more than 300m, otherwise the nickel host rock is generally weathered and the sulphides are lower in grade. Worth noting that sulphide deposits don't have to be anywhere near the size of laterite deposits as they are much cheaper and easier to process.
Also worth noting what @TheArchitect mentioned re: Market Cap & EV. CNR's EV is now 3 x that of NKL
