It has been a few months since my last post on the INF threads, I haven't gone away have been lurking in the background awaiting for news on the approval front like many others.

With Covid restrictions having next to no impact on the business it was pleasing to see Ryan and the Team progressing the project on ground in Spain over the past quarter. With Russia invading Ukraine, the EU is now more focused than ever on transitioning to a cleaner and more secure energy future for the region, which bodes well for renewable energy projects and the raw material mines that are subsequently in greater demand.

Since my last posting the price of lithium chemicals has been on a parabolic rise (which is now taking a breather). Within the 2021 Scoping study the company modelled a Pre-Tax NPV of US$811m based on a LiOH Price of US$17/kg. According to Fastmarkets the current Contract Price sits at US$67-72/kg, whilst spot pricing is at US$80-83/kg.

Now I don't expect current pricing to remain the norm for the life of the project, but to give an insight onto the financials of the San Jose Project, if a Lithium Price of US$68/kg was modelled (400% Increase from the Scoping Study). The Project NPV Pre-Tax would be approximately US$8.8 Billion (Which is just insane). Again I highlight that Lithium Prices will not stay this high forever, but just gives an insight into the supply vs demand that we are currently seeing.








As the Case before the courts is largely out of our hands now, I am pleased to see Management progressing with bringing this project to life, whilst providing significant benefits for the local and regional communities. The Big Ticket Items that holders can look forward to over the coming period:
- Update on the Court Appeal (#1 Item I am sure)
- Progressing towards DFS Finalisation in Q1 2023
- Offtake Negotiations with LG Energy
- Project Funding from EU (PERTE Allocation)
