I forgot to balance my thoughts re the comment about coal and other influences. Obviously coal has been a great ride and some funds have missed out on this at detriment to their members or unit holders.
A challenging thought, but if people want to reduce carbon burning then we should open up greater supply of coal to the world from Australia. I know some will bristle up on this, but stick with me. With over 2000 new coal stations been planned for and rolling out, usually installed across the world by chinese supply and technicians. Countries like NZ having issues and certainly in Australia we are paying the price to compromise base load.
My point. we have some of the best coal in the world and possibly on average we have 25% more kilo-joules per KG of coal burnt. So if only Australian coal was used for all generation in the world then we could make an enormous reduction to coal usage. If we dont supply it, then other countries will and it will pollute more.
I feel many overlook this and it is very relevant even to this topic, future pricing and focus's, with implications including demographics and politics and agenda's.
