This is all very interesting, honestly, a really good read.
But at the end of the day its simple, farmers are first and foremost businessmen/women, if pricing signals tell us to go organic we will, if a chemical is proved to be killing our consumers we will find a way to cope without it. But, rest assured all chemicals used are assumed to be safe and aren't used if they aren't necessary.
So if you don't like the way we do things, instead of vilifying us, vote with your wallets and give us some pricing signals to change.
