'The Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) is the
peak body for wound management in Australia.
AWMA has been lobbying key policy makers and the general public
for over a decade in a bid to bring attention to the seriousness of
chronic wounds as a significant social problem which demands
urgent attention. Wound patients have continuously fallen through
the cracks in terms of Government funding.
It is the intention of AWMA to continue lobbying for political action
and to educate the public on this overlooked, yet extremely serious
issue. AWMA is looking to build a case that can demonstrate to
the Federal Government that there are better health outcomes
where there is funding for both nurse treatment, funding for the
provision of wound management products, and also into wound
    management training.
The elderly need to be ensured the right and sufficient care they
deserve. There needs to be a coordinated Federal approach so we
    ask for your support.
Please sign the attached petition, or go online to
www.elephantintheroom.com.au for further information and to
    sign the online petition.'
