People say market cap has no bearing on fines but it absolutely does as it determines the feasibility of paying the fine. There is no point fining a company that can’t pay it because then they get 0.
couple the fact austrac fining a company into bankruptcy inadvertently then crimples the nsw gov as they rely on the tax to operate and recently baked in a lot of revenue into budgets forecasted
couple that with the deal they struck for jobs . 3000 for that matter.
fine will be 150m or less
