At Agfest today, a lot of talk about Fonterra (and before that Murray Golburn) dropping its milk price. Makes me wonder if it is the kind of news/reality that will push some to consider going 'organic'? (especially considering about 70% of Tas dairy farmers are in contract with those companies) Looks like the drought has broken here too, as we move out of elnino to lanina pattern - so drought affected farmers could be most keen to move as they have been hit hardest by milk price drops? I've said here before Tasmania's unique geology and climate lends itself to organic dairy farming and Laura McBain has said in various interviews about the intent to help farmers go organic. We have all speculated on what some of her shares were sold to fund.
I know the tea leaf readers and those scared of shorters under the bed, are all consumed by 'tomorrow's' share price; but the investors among us wonder about the longer term and we speculate too.. speculate that it is indeed quite good...
