If it drops back to the $1000 US region it just means that many projects to the right of the cost curve will not go ahead and we are back in the extreme supply deficit scenario that there is currently. The new higher normal price will prevail IMO and the current producers are in the box seat to expand production and take advantage of the price. PLS is in a very good position.
Short term extreme volatility is unfortunate for those wanting to cash in chips but the LT holders who don't need to sell and possibly have funds to accumulate, will still do very very very well. I'm still accumulating, even if it is bringing up my average price. There is cream amongst the sector and that is where I will continue to place funds at times like these.
I'll find out if my tactics where wrong by about 2025.
