I used to work for a multi billion dollar company who released an app to the Australian public.

We did a bunch of internal testing as well as staff limited in house testing first before we released it to the public.

Most bugs and issues did not really start to show until the public release, we also released the app under our company name. Not some made up fairy tale name that you speak of.

ALOT of our original back end work and UI development was done offshore ( to keep costs down ) Until we started to gain some market acceptance we then brought all development back in house and expanded the department.
