A GOVERNMENT insider has revealed that Press Secretary to the Prime Minister is the highest paid political appointee in the Prime Minister?s Office. The source alleged that Alfred Sasako received $10,000 fortnightly, which is far greater than what his boss, Prime Minister, Danny Philip receives.

Source further claimed that Mr Sasako demanded the NCRA Government to pay him on that higher salary may be due to his highest caliber in media and politics.

Compared to other political appointees and the Attorney General they received a little lower salary fortnightly than Mr Sasako.

The source claimed the reason why Mr Sasako is so vocal about the issues affecting the government was because he was paid a very high salary.

?He even went as far as manufacturing some of the media statements which contain false information that mislead the nation particularly in this current political confusion,? the source said.

Mr Sasako?s salary contradicts the statement, which the Prime Minister Philip said in front of the parliament house after he was elected the Prime Minister.

?My Government will reduce the government expenditure,? and also during the press conference after his election the Prime Minister said that his Government will reduce the number of political appointees plus their salaries.

However, the source claimed that NCRA Government has approximately 30 political appointees.

When Island Sun contacted Mr Sasako yesterday, he denied the claims and said he will respond in the later date.
