GOVERNMENT STUDIES NUCLEAR ENERGY AS AN OPTION FOR ELECTRICITY - PM
http://www.pmo.gov.my/?menu=newslist&page=1731&news_id=7701&news_cat=13
Here is the important part where the Malaysian government make use of the AIEA to choose an appropriate location to build radioactive plants. Lynas doesn?t fall into the same category, but when the Malaysian government proposed the new location, I would have thought that they followed the same selection criteria (probably with some help from the AIEA) to choose the location.
Please note that this is just my opinion, but seems like a logical step to me. So this tells me that there shouldn'tt be any problems with where the LAMP is currently located and therefore no big delays as the LAMP will stay were it is ;-)
"A detailed study to identify a suitable site for the nuclear power plant based on the selection criteria suggested by the IAEA and normally used in the developed countries is also carried out," he said.
