Yesterday several people mentioned that iPPS did not work / does not work / might not work etc.

I think we need to remember that whether or not a treatment 'works' is not dependent on whether we think it works, but whether it achieves a clinically meaningful benefit, which is a 30% improvement above baseline - as measured via the answers provided in a questionnaire and other objective measures.

In some cases, a 30% improvement can be 1 or 2 point change on the Womac scale or walking an additional 50-75 m. These changes may not necessarily be noticeable to those taking the treatment.

The only way we can be sure when someone says the treatment did not work is if their results were exactly the same at day 0 vs day 56, which simply just can't be the case since even the placebo group experiences an improvement in their symptoms.
