Principally it's just a title.
How large the role of a director or what it encompasses will vary from organisation.
With ever increasing social media platforms & customer service standards the demands on companies to manage communications effectively are increasing.
Regardless of how an individual feels about numerous social media platforms reality is they are here to stay & can have both a beneficial or damaging effect on a business, whether used to advantage is often in the hands of each business.
Neil's role within CGB has been to monitor these platforms & update the shareholder & customer base whilst ensuring information circulating is factually correct. Neil also uploads digital content across multiple platforms.
It would not suprise me if Neil's department has had an additional staff member added to help manage CGB's social media demands to coincide with the upgrade in title.
Given CGB is a publicly traded company that is targeting industries that are attracting large social media activity I'm glad CGB has decided to be proactive in this department both protecting & promoting shareholders interests.
Congratulations @Neil1959 on the new title! Keep up the good work.
