1. Then let us explore literal Genesis Creation. It left no footprint. It runs counter to the evidence and understandings of every natural science. It has nothing to do with the nature of God, the Divinity of God, or aligns itself with any natural reality we know.
You draw the line at evolution as though its evidential truth diminishes your God. It's a bridge too far. Somehow this notion of magical reality, that being, literal Genesis has to trump a reality of natural order or you feel that the Christian / God story is lost. It must be accepted as an act of faith for no gain at all.
I'd like you to explain to me how the unfolding of Creation via evolution is any less miraculous, than literal Genesis, which has not one item of physical evidence to support it? Evolution is not random and nothing has ever arisen from it that was not known in potential.
Evolution is the accepted truth. The gold standard. You may rail and pontificate all you like, but via education and real hard won knowledge such ancient beliefs in a literal Genesis have been shown to be symbolic stories with far deeper meanings that the fundamentalist gives them credit for.
2. Buddhism is a very old religion and none of its original writings exist, so we at best only have a glimpse of what the Buddha may have taught. The Buddha did not teach a nothingness doctrine, nor did He reject God. He speaks of Causation in subtle ways. In the land of millions of gods He taught that one should live in the moment, free of excess. In so doing the future would take care of itself. The enlightened would see that there was an unknowable Cause to reality.
5. This may be your biggest clanger to date. Tens of thousands of Christian sects and you dare to suggest that Christians, or just you perhaps, or maybe Mr Gordon and his mob, deal in exegesis and not eisegesis. Every Christian sect got there because it interpreted in their own way. There are straight forward Scriptures and even these get messed up, but the vast majority of Scripture is symbolic, metaphoric, allegoric, etc and this is where the friends let their egos run riot. Christianity would be unrecognisable to Christ today because it has been torn to pieces by eisegesis.
Examples being, the Trinity doctrine, literal Genesis, Christianity being the only true religion, literal physical resurrection of Christ and hundreds of other interpretations that have lost their way.
6. The Christian claim is generally, Christians are not perfect, just forgiven. It is a deeply self-centred belief system that imagines itself as the sole outlet for the Word of God, for the Grace of God. They indeed think they have the only, get out of hell (jail) card, when in fact they are one true religion amongst many true religions.
