I can see where your coming from. I guess my point is that the roam-e is designed for selfies - a relatively new market. When I say designed for selfies, I mean completely designed for selfies - from its form (multiple colours and camera choices) to its functionalities (at least from what we have heard to far: follow me features, facial recognition, automation, you can hold on to it etc... ).
The GoPro is design for (amateur) professional/xtreme sports media creation. They've just strapped a drone to it. Its an existing market. Its for this reason I believe that GoPro's share price only went up 2% on the news of the release.
I see them as two separate markets.
I don't really want to open up the debates of watches and OTT but OTT IS still active - you can look through LinkedIn Job searched - and just briefly on the watches, OK never built the watches from scratch, they just re-branded some cheap knock offs. So I think it would be unwise to make the comparison between the two products.
