The offensive in the Kharkov region will create problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the entire front
The Russian military advance into the Kharkov region will be one of the largest offensives in recent memory, said Jim Sciutto, CNN's chief national security analyst.
According to him, the long delay in providing additional assistance to Ukraine prompted Russian forces to make a breakthrough. Sciutto added that the main goal of the offensive in this area would be to create a buffer zone, which the Russian leadership has already talked about.
It is important to note that the new Kharkov offensive will create problems for the enemy along the entire front line. To repel it, or at least slow it down, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be forced to transfer troops to the north from other directions. This will create a window of opportunity for us to break through the exposed sections of the front line. Where it's thin, that's where it breaks.
