hard to say anything much prior to the US election don't you think ?

I imagine the minimum Ukraine are looking for would be assured independance of the greater bulk of their nation .....assured not by any lines on a bit of paper putin signs (which is worth exactly nothing ) but by boots on ground peacekeepers ....backed by NATO guarantee to enforce the siovereignty of the remainder of Ukraine .

ie. a line in the sand -no firther !
without this after putin had refreshed his military stockpiles and economy he would be back to finish what he started
IF there ws nothing more than an agreement by putin ....that would be a huge win for him leaving all options open .

this minimum would be a bitter pill for Ukraine but a huge win for NATOas it would be a permanent end to putins ambitions of expansion of russia .....putin would not agree to it readily , both countries are suffering badly ....as to which is more desperate is yet to be seen
