When I was living in Japan a couple of years ago, it was public knowledge there that Margaret Jackson was involved in buying a few ski resorts in Nisseko for next to nothing, and then Qantas announced direct flights there to feed those resorts a little while later. The near dead Nisseko is now thriving with Aussie skiiers every year and those resorts have increased 10-fold in value.

Did that not cause a conflict of interest? I can't understand how they can use the corporate power of Qantas to benefit themselves like that.

Sorry to bring up such an old issue, but I was not in Oz at the time and did not see any debate on the subject.
