Their is a wharf that was built 50 years ago when I was a kid, never went under water, Know it goes underwater well and truly with Christmas high tides.
Ages ago the water level was 25 km more inland than it is know.
You only need to look at the rocks to know what level the water will rise to when the ice melts.
We'll all be long gone, But you have 2 choices turn up the heat and learn to live with extreme weather and rising sea levels, or work with mother nature and slow things down. Human are self centred sons of batches, Who mainly only worry about themselves, The ones that oppose global warming show their colours, That they only care about the moment, Not what this genertion leaves behind for the next, or about other speccies such as the 6th great extinction of insects, and a host of other species.

It's not the sea level rising, it's the islands sinking, no compensation required.
If they want compensation, see China.
If your jetty is getting covered with water at high tide, maybe the stanchions that support the pier are sinking.
Climate is always changing, notice now they don't call it global warming, because it's not.
