depends… not everyone actually buys shares directly and shares can be held by custodian (personally I wouldn’t by shares this way as seen it work against investors).
In these instances shares can be lent without your consent or benefit.
Dont really get involved in it and dont have time to try and describe it half arsed..
But it’s where a lot of ‘dodgy shit’ happens…
