The ES profile chart below shows the balance area we are currently churning in after Thursday's neutral CPI numbers and US treasury selling.  The profile adds the dimension of time to price and volume, giving a different perspective for both overnight and intraday work.  You can see the single print stem on Thursday's ES session.  That starts exactly at the time the  president announced over twitter that he is meeting with the senior lead of the Chinese trade delegation on Friday.   The overnight session in progress implies that positioning is mostly long.   This is low volume action.
