Signs of a slowing market: STT post count drops.

Anyway, here's a question I've got of late and can't answer for myself as I've only been on specs stocks for over 2 years. I'm not sure if it's been discussed: How do spec stocks behave right before, during and after a market crash? When Lehman Brothers announced their collapse how did the specs stocks response? I remember someone said the whole buyside disappeared on hundred of specs, but I'm not sure when that happened and for how long. For the big end of town it's a slow downward ride to bottom from mid-2008 till March 2009, I assume for specs it happened much quicker?

Knowing this could get new investors like me prepare for the coming crash, because we all know it will come, only question of when. Looking to hear from STT veterans.
