NOTES ON DATA
Data on this site is sourced from ASIC, ASX and other third party data providers. The short sales data is reliant on accurate report submissions by individual sellers. While ASIC monitors the compliance of reporting, there can be no guarantee as to the accuracy of these individual reports. The ASX data is published daily and the ASIC data is published 4 trading days after reported (T+4), so graphs on this site will be dated at least 4 trading days ago. If no position is reported for a particular stock, this site assumes zero shorted stocks.
Recent short sales data is sourced from ASX, and represents reported short positions. There is also no guarantee as to the accuracy of this data. These short sales include both ASX and Chi-X short sales. The trading volume is only the ASX trading volume, and the "Shorts as % of volume" is a simple division between these two figures. As Chi-X volume is not accounted for, it may not be accurate.
Data on this site is updated after it is published by ASIC/ASX. The times this site updates data are:
11:30am Sydney time on trading days for ASX recent short sales data
ASIC data (graphed shorting data) is not published by ASIC at a consistent scheduled time. This site will attempt to automatically update ASIC data shortly after it becomes available
The overall market graph is updated approximately 3am (Tuesday to Saturday)
The data on this site relies entirely on third party data sources and can not be guaranteed. It should not be used for the basis of any financial decisions.
It is important to note that ASIC’s aggregated short position reports are reliant on the accuracy of reports we receive from individual short sellers. While we will monitor compliance with short position reporting and provide additional guidance where necessary, we are unable to verify the accuracy of all individual reports submitted to ASIC, nor to verify that all short sellers in our market (both in Australia and overseas) are lodging reports.
