gann 45 wasn't the whole point about "borrowing" stock was that the borrowers didn't feel that they had to report it as a short sale? And you can't tell me that the instos that lent the stock also didn't partake in the shorting especially when it became very obvious just how efficient it was at making money. "shorting...penalises business with flawed operating models, not in this type of market it penalises everything in its path flawed or not... a fact which is easily forgotten/ignored by supporters of short selling in efficient markets where there is rationality on both sides yes it works well but definitely not in this type of environment.
