    Hi Skol,

    Nice story, but I don't get the point you're trying to make. I remember '87 although I was a young fella. I remember 1999 and 2007 very well and was working in finance that whole time. I see a lot of those signs of excess today. Some, like housing and global stock markets are easy to see, others like debt are not so obvious.

    Difference this time around is that things that are totally out of whack like all time low interest rates, homes costing 20x income and record debt are accepted as normal. Back in 1987 the NZ reserve bank interest rate was around 20%. Now it's stuck at 1.75%, lowest rate ever. That's also indicative of a mania. An easy credit fuelled debt mania. It's just harder to see and to understand. And most people don't get it.

    Silver on the other hand is completely unloved, a total dog that no-one wants to touch. A bit like Apple stock in 2002.
