You may be interested in the following article which only showed an association between stroke and LVEF when LVEF was < 15%. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think many participants in the DREAM-HF trial, if any, met this criteria. I expect Mesoblast would also be required to adjust their trial results for any confounding variables, including ejection fraction, when presenting their results to the FDA.
